It’s a thing that I know is good for my mental health and I should do more. But it’s hard to remember and prioritize. I always feel better and more grounded when I do though.
“Meditation” can sound like some mystical thing, but it’s really just sitting still, breathing, focusing on your body, and letting thoughts go. Easier said than done, of course. I have found that guided meditation apps (I think I used Headspace) were very helpful at first, and later, just a timer.
I know it sounds very woo-woo, but it is actually good for you. We’re living lives so much faster and more complex than we evolved for. Our brains literally cannot be focused and “productive” all day every day. Is just not possible.
So take some time to just sit and breath every once in a while.
